Hanover, December 2009 – The type testing and certification process for the TimberTower with a Vensys 77 is completed. The German technical inspection authority TÜV Nord has given its go-ahead for the assembly of the first prototype with 100m hub height
TimberTower GmbH has achieved another milestone in its young company history. “Our efforts have been finally rewarded”, says gladly Holger Giebel, Managing Director of TimberTower GmbH, as he looks back on a busy year. The type testing of the wind energy plant with a TimberTower was a precondition for the assembly of the first TimberTower in Germany and thus for further development and improvement of the tower.
“The prototype will prove that our idea not only functions but offers enormous advantages over conventional steel towers”, emphasises Gregor Prass, inventor of the TimberTower and also a Managing Director of TimberTower GmbH. Assembly of the first prototype is scheduled for summer 2010. TimberTower GmbH is pursuing additional certification for various types of wind turbines on a TimberTower.
