In order to simulate and optimize the assembly process TimberTower erected a wooden test tower on the premises of Ing. Holzbau Cordes in Waffensen/Germany. This tower is an exact replication the 25m upper part of the already certified tower with a hub height of 100m and a 1.5MW Vensys turbine. The insights gained helped us to develop a standardized assembly process for future TimberTowers

The timber panels are produced including all fasteners in the supplier factory. To the outside of the timber psnels a constructive caoting will be applied.

About 10 conventional trucks are used to transport the tower components of a 100m TimberTower. Meanwhile at the building site the foundation and the foundation connections have been prepared.

|
At first a preassembled frame, which includes all interior components such as lighting, ladder system, power connections and working planes, is assembled on the foundation. The panels are positioned along the frame and interconnected. The weight of the wind turbine is borne only by the panels.

By welding the joints of the coating, the surface of the tower is closed and therefore inured to environmental influences. After the tower is fully assembled the horizontal and vertical connections are glued from the inside of the tower.
