Hannover Marienwerder

TimberTower is erecting the first 100m wooden tower for a 1.5 megawatt Vensys wind turbine in Hannover Marienwerder. The turbine weighs almost 100 tons and will produce electricity for about 1000 households.

12.10.2012

The first wind turbine with a 100m TimberTower is finished. Now there will be a test period. The turbine will be connected to the electrical power grid by the end of the year.

11.10.2012

A long day goes by, but we did it! The Vensys 77 is connected to the TimberTower.

The Blades are assembled on the ground...it is very tight, but nevertheless the hub can be lifted.

10.10.2012

Today the nacelle and the generator will be assembled.

September 2012

It´s done! The first TimberTower with 100m hub height is completed.

August 2012

75m...about to be finished.

July 2012

60m are erected. Only the last two frame segments are missing.

June 2012

Meanwhile the tower is about 45m high. Please visit us again and take a look how the tower is getting higher...

Before the next panels can be erected, another frame segment has to be lifted onto the tower. The ladder system is already assembled to the frame while it is still on the ground. Including the foundation base the tower is now about 20m high.

Now it is getting exciting. The first 2 panels are assembled. The steel adapater for the foundation connection is already added to the lowest 8 panels in the production process. Everything has to be accurate.

May 2012

Finally the foundation is completed and the concrete is cured. Onsite the frame segments have already been assembled. Now the first segment can be lifted onto the tower.

January 2012

Meanwhile the excavation trench was dug about 1m deep and 21m wide. In the context of monitoring, 9 earth pressure cells were implemented in order to measure the contact pressure between concrete and soil. Now the actual foundation works can begin.

In order to reinforce the load capacity of the ground, stone columns are driven into the ground.

Finally, we can start preparing the construction site.

December 2011, Hannover Marienwerder

That´s the site where the first TimberTower for a multi megawatt wind turbine will be erected. The hub height will be 100m.
