TimberTower is erecting the first 100m wooden tower for a 1.5 megawatt Vensys wind turbine in Hannover Marienwerder. The turbine weighs almost 100 tons and will produce electricity for about 1000 households.

The first wind turbine with a 100m TimberTower is finished. Now there will be a test period. The turbine will be connected to the electrical power grid by the end of the year.

Before the next panels can be erected, another frame segment has to be lifted onto the tower. The ladder system is already assembled to the frame while it is still on the ground. Including the foundation base the tower is now about 20m high.
Now it is getting exciting. The first 2 panels are assembled. The steel adapater for the foundation connection is already added to the lowest 8 panels in the production process. Everything has to be accurate.

Finally the foundation is completed and the concrete is cured. Onsite the frame segments have already been assembled. Now the first segment can be lifted onto the tower.

Meanwhile the excavation trench was dug about 1m deep and 21m wide. In the context of monitoring, 9 earth pressure cells were implemented in order to measure the contact pressure between concrete and soil. Now the actual foundation works can begin.
